Beholder Labs is a European startup building AI safety for climbing gyms. Our flagship product, GripIQ, protects climbers at every station — automatically, in real time.
Where we came from
Beholder Labs was born from one simple observation: climbing accidents caused by human error are largely preventable — as long as someone (or something) is actually watching.
We're climbers ourselves, so we've seen this problem firsthand — not as an abstract market opportunity, but as something we genuinely care about. Improving safety on the walls is personal to us.
The market scale, growth dynamics of indoor climbing, and the lack of adequate technology solutions created space for a product that would be both operationally effective and accessible to every gym — regardless of size.
That's how GripIQ was born: an AI-powered climbing hold that doesn't disrupt daily workflow, requires no changes from the climber, yet does what no employee can — watches every station all the time.
